Hi, I'm Kevin Servais — a photographer based in West Des Moines, Iowa, and the person behind KPS Photography.
My camera takes me everywhere. Into backyards where pets play, athletes push their limits, deep into nature where wildlife moves on its own terms, through quiet landscapes that stop you in your tracks, and into the personal moments that make up a life worth remembering. I photograph portraits, sports, pets, wildlife, and nature. Every single one of those subjects has taught me something different about patience, timing, and what it means to truly pay attention.
No matter what I'm shooting, my approach never changes. I keep things relaxed, unhurried, and focused on capturing something genuine rather than something staged. Whether I'm waiting for a bird to turn its head just right, tracking an athlete at full sprint, or coaxing a cat to look at the camera for half a second — the goal is always the same. A photo that feels real, because it is.
The best sessions are the ones where you forget I'm even there. My job is to make that happen and then hand you something you'll want to cherish forever.
